The United Arab Emirates national minifootball team has achieved a major milestone on the Asian stage, defeating Indonesia 3–0 to claim third place and the bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Minifootball Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The impressive achievement marks another important step forward for UAE minifootball and comes alongside the team’s qualification for the 2027 WMF Minifootball World Cup in the Czech Republic.
The UAE produced a strong campaign throughout the Asian Championship, delivering several outstanding performances in the group stage. One of the highlights was a remarkable 13–1 victory over Japan. The team later secured its place in the semi-finals after defeating Uzbekistan 4–2, finishing the group stage with nine points.
In the third-place playoff, the UAE delivered another commanding performance, beating hosts Indonesia 3–0 to secure the bronze medal and finish among Asia’s top three minifootball nations.
The result adds another significant achievement to the UAE team’s growing international record and provides valuable momentum ahead of the 2027 World Cup in the Czech Republic.
