The Mini Football Executive Committee, operating under the UAE Sports for All Federation, held an introductory and organisational meeting for the 2026–2027 mini Football season on 9 September 2026 at the UAE National Olympic Committee headquarters in Dubai.
The meeting brought together representatives of the Federation, participating teams and clubs, as well as coaches, administrators and referees, to review preparations and organisational arrangements for the new season.
During the meeting, the Committee presented the general regulations for the 2026–2027 season and discussed player registration periods, competition formats, technical and organisational requirements, amendments to the laws of the game, preparations for the domestic season and upcoming international participation.
The Committee announced two registration windows for the new season. The first registration period will run from 22 September to 22 October 2026, while the second will take place from 15 to 22 January 2027. Teams will be required to complete the registration of their players and technical staff through the approved electronic system.
Sarmad Al Zadjali, Executive Director of the Mini Football Committee, presented the programme for the new season, which will officially kick off on 6 October 2026 with the Super Cup. The competition will feature the league and cup champions and runners-up, with semi-final matches followed by the final.
The season will also feature the fourth edition of the UAE Championship, the Premier League, the First Division League and the knockout Cup competition. The final formats of the competitions will be determined based on the number of participating teams following the completion of registration.
On the technical side, the meeting addressed a number of amendments to the laws of mini football that will require detailed explanation to referees, coaches and players ahead of the start of competition. A dedicated workshop will be organised to familiarise participating teams with the new regulations and their implementation in accordance with the officially approved laws.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for the UAE national mini football team’s participation in the Asian Championship in Indonesia, which serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Cup in the Czech Republic. The national team completed more than two months of preparation and training in Dubai ahead of the continental competition.
It was also announced that WellQ will sponsor the UAE national team during its Asian campaign. Saeed Al Ajil, President of the UAE Sports for All Federation and Chairman of the mini football Executive Committee, praised the company’s support for the national team and expressed his hope that the UAE will achieve positive results and secure qualification for the 2027 World Cup.
Al Ajil also highlighted the continued development of minif ootball in the UAE and welcomed the participating teams, noting that the 2026–2027 season is expected to deliver a high level of competition, excitement and sporting excellence across its various championships.
The meeting concluded by emphasising the importance of completing all team, player and technical staff registrations, preparing regulations governing objections and organising a specialised workshop on the latest amendments to the laws of the game. These measures aim to further strengthen the organisational and technical standards of UAE mini football and contribute to a successful 2026–2027 season.
