speed, skill, endurance and determination in a highly energetic and competitive sporting atmosphere.
Offering a unique alternative to traditional cycling competitions, participants tackled a 3.8-kilometre indoor course featuring narrow corridors, staircases, technical turns and a variety of challenging sections that tested their fitness, concentration and bike-handling abilities. The event was billed as the region’s first indoor mountain bike race.
The event featured several race categories, including the Indoor MTB Individual Time Trial, a mixed junior category for riders under 18, and an indoor gravel time trial, providing participants with an opportunity to experience a distinctive and action-packed cycling challenge.
The race also provided an innovative platform to promote cycling and encourage members of the community to embrace physical activity through new and engaging sporting experiences that combine competition, enjoyment and personal challenge.
Events of this kind contribute to promoting a culture of sport and active living, while creating diverse opportunities for community participation and encouraging people of different ages and abilities to make physical activity part of their everyday lifestyle.
